- The role hormones play, and simple ways to support healthy levels.
- Which chemicals are associated with endometriosis, and how to avoid them.
- Why surgery is an important tool, and why the type of surgery matters greatly.
- While a “cure” may not (yet) be available, remission is the option you should aim for.
Reviews
“In this beautifully illustrated book, Katie Edmonds, an endo warrior herself, offers easy-to-follow recommendations for supporting women with endometriosis to reduce the chronic and systemic inflammation that often amplifies endometriosis symptoms. She helpfully explains how endometriosis is a systemic disease and must be approached with integrative and systemic healing strategies. Of course, I am in strong agreement. I especially enjoyed her detailed recommendations on stress buffering and management which is a huge part of living healthfully with endometriosis but is not discussed often enough.” – Dr. Jessica Drummond, DCN, CNS, PT, Founder and CEO of The Integrative Women’s Health Institute and author of Outsmart Endometriosis.
“It is rare to find a single resource that is as comprehensive and user-friendly as this book, especially for such a common, widely misunderstood, and understudied condition as endometriosis. Heal Endo manages to cover what could take months or years in 1-1 work with an empowering root cause approach. This book has the potential to help countless people break the cycle of painkillers and surgery and find lasting relief from endo.” – Ayla Barmmer, MS, Registered Dietitian, Co-Founder of Women‘s Health Nutrition Academy, CEO FullWell
“It’s about time we approached endometriosis from an inflammatory perspective. The combination of a one, two punch for endometriosis – 1) decrease inflammation and immune upregulation and 2) excision of endometriosis – in combination, are the ideal approach to ‘beat’ and ‘heal’ endo. Kudos to Katie!” – Dr. Iris Kerin Orbuch, Director of the Advanced Gynecologic Laparoscopy Center in Los Angeles, Author of Beating Endo: How to Reclaim Your Life From Endometriosis.
“Whether you’re newly diagnosed with endometriosis or have been living with it for years, Heal Endo will deepen your understanding of this disease and clear the confusion. By reframing endometriosis from a “women’s issue” – relegated to the realms of gynecology – to instead a body-wise disease fraught with immune dysregulation, we can change our current mainstream approach to addressing this complex disease.” – Dr. Jolene Brighten, Bestselling author of Beyond the Pill
“Katie Edmonds has written a truly comprehensive and compassionate guide to endometriosis. Heal Endo provides readers with a revolutionary approach to understanding and treating this condition. It includes the latest research on how endometriosis develops, effective treatment protocols, and how to live an endo-healing life. This book is definitely one to have on your shelf!” – Nicole Jardim, Certified Women’s Health Coach, Author of Fix Your Period
“What an amazing book!!! This book will be the ‘gold standard’ resource for patients with endometriosis. Outstanding!!! Heal Endo will certainly help save many women with endometriosis unnecessary pain and suffering. I really appreciate randomly finding this book on Pinterest and just reading it in one night it’s such a treasure trove of information.I am currently recovering from my second surgery for endometriosis and it took 11 years to get diagnosed so I can definitely relate to a lot of the other women’s stories in this book.I will definitely be implementing some of the lifestyle changes recommended in this book I’ve cut out coffee, gluten and am eating copious amounts of cruciferous vegetables. The book details a lot of data and studies which have shown what can help and what can hinder the probability of this disease progressing. It’s a very easy read not really any excessive medical terminology and gave me lots to think about.

Immediately feel seen and heard
As soon as this book arrived. I immediately retreated to my reading nook. Not even 30 minutes into it, could it be? Someone actually gets it. It took me the better part of 20 years to be diagnosed. I really appreciate her touching on infertility in the first half as well. Firstly, she experienced it first hand as an endometriosis suffer so why shouldn’t she speak on it? And also, that’s one of the main times endometriosis gets taken seriously in my experience. Once they smell an IVF $$$ patient they’re right on it. You suspect endo? Their response is “whatever”. You even hint at fertility problems and they become way more interested. You can’t be helped and you’re incurable but will gladly take your money. One minute I was considered “too young” to experience what I was expressing and the next minute in my early thirties I’m gently being called geriatric by actual geriatric male doctor. Very dehumanizing. So, I’d say it’s very important toward the topic. Again. Not even far into the book and I can tell this is going to be a book you don’t put down. It’s such a respectful approach that is not commonly used. I feel very optimistic using this as a guide to prep for a better future. Thank you KatiePlacebo effect is acknowledged when they want you to take those birth control pills but not in the way they discuss your condition with you. Wow. This book is a GAME CHANGER. So grateful it was recommended to me.“I’m not a mouse” LITERALLY

Good for maintaining healthy lifestyle but not for curing advance level Endometriosis.
This book is like an collection of all the floating informations available on internet about endometriosis. Unfortunately there is no practical solutions given for extreme pain that patients go through. The nutrition and exercise chapter is good for maintaining a healthy feminine body. Pyschological tips are good. If you have advanced level issue and chronic pain, it wont be of much use.

This book is amazing!
If you have endometriosis and want to know more about how the flares and disease progression work and what you can do to stop it and feel better this is an amazing book. It explains everything with an easy language and it’s based on the recent research. I can’t be more happy about discovering this book.I just started working with a dietitian on improving my diet and gastrintenstinal symptoms next to having hormonal therapy set by an endometriosis doctor and most of the things my dietitian says are same as in this book. Especially eliminating without focusing on nutrient content, as it turned out I have some deficiences and don’t consume enough of some nutrients.I also saw uropchysiotherapist before and now I understand better how the exercises I was given work. And the most important – this book desn’t trigger me. As lots of the books focus on how bad everything is or can be and what helps is only a small part. This book is different.Next to hormonal therapy and surgery there’s many things we can do to improve our symptoms. Yes, it may be incurable for now, but it can be in total remission, so don’t lose hope. Life with endo doesn’t equal life in misery as many people think.
