“Life changing Endometriosis treatment now cheaper”
“A game changer for women living with Endo.”
“Transformative”
Just a few references about the latest approval of Visanne (Dienogest) listed the Australian Pharmaceutical Benefit Scheme to allow easier, cheaper, access for those dealing with Endometriosis.
Visanne (Dienogest) is a progestin-based medication that has been specifically approved for the treatment of Endometriosis. Is does not contain oestrogen like many other hormone treatments.
Visanne reduces pelvic pain by suppressing the growth and activity of Endometriosis due to limiting oestradiol production and hormonal stimulation. This can result in the reduction of the formation of new lesions and can stunt the growth of current lesions.
Taken daily, orally, the potential side affects are minimal, with the most common being mild headaches which can ease after long-term use. Thus, potentially contributing to improving long-term disease management and an improved quality of life.
A big thanks to The Hon Mark Butler MP Minister for Health and Aged Care for getting this over the line with the support of Bayer and EndoActive – what a great early Christmas present!
You will need a prescription to access this medication. As always, consult your General Practitioner or Gynaecologist for any medical advice.
