SUMMARY:Selby VIC: Endo and Adeno Warriors in the Hills Support Group
DESCRIPTION:Endo and Adeno Support Group hosted by Jane Mortimer \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nCome join us for our Endo Warriors in the Hills Support Group event! Connect with others who understand the challenges of living with endometriosis. Share stories\, offer support\, and gain valuable insights from fellow warriors. This in-person event will take place at Ranges Integrative Health\, providing a safe space for open discussions and camaraderie. Don’t miss this opportunity to connect with others who truly get it! \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThis is a monthly gathering for those living with Endo and/Adeno to meet up with others and share our lived experiences with those who “get it” and hopefully make some new friends along the way. \n\n\n\nIt’s a safe space and open to people of all ages. I’m a social worker and have experience facilitating groups and also many years lived experience with Endo and Adeno. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nAt each gathering\, we discuss coping strategies\, treatment options\, and provide a shoulder to lean on. Don’t face endo alone – join us and become part of our warrior community! At some of our catch ups we have different alternative health therapists pop in to share how their modality can help us manage symptoms we experience. \n\n\n\nTea and coffee will be available. If you’ve got a Keep Cup please bring it along. This is a free event. There’s facilities to heat up your heat pack or a hot water bottle as well\, if you’re needing that on the day. Looking forward to seeing you there. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThere are 12 free tickets available each session. If you book a ticket and aren’t able to end up making it please let others in the group know as someone may like to take your spot. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThanks. Lots of love\, strength and hope to all of you amazing warriors xx 💛🌻  \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nJane is Social Worker with about 20 years experience and also has a long history of lived experience as an endo/adeno warrior 💛🌻  You can read more about Jane here.

SUMMARY:Online: How to talk with your GP - with Dr Orna McGinn & Endometriosis New Zealand
DESCRIPTION:Endometriosis New Zealand’s How to talk with your GP – with Dr Orna McGinn \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nJoin us for a free practical session with Dr Orna McGinn on how to talk to your GP and navigate the public health system. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nWe’ll cover how to prepare for your GP appointment\, communicate clearly about symptoms and impacts\, and advocate for the care you need. Orna’s specialist interest is in women’s health\, and particularly equity of access to services for women which can be delivered in the community. By training and educating other medical professionals she aims to increase the level of knowledge in the community so that women can access appropriate care closer to home. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nLearn about: \n\n\n\n• What to bring and how to clearly express your concerns \n\n\n\n• Should I ask for a referral and what options might be offered \n\n\n\n• Using tools like symptom trackers and the RATE tool (RANZCOG) \n\n\n\n• How to leave your appointment with a clear treatment plan and next steps \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nYou’ll also hear from Megan a lived experience speaker sharing their top tips for navigating the system and advocating for yourself effectively. Megan has lived a complex and painful health journey with endometriosis and chronic pelvic pain. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nFor years\, she was ignored and dismissed by doctors\, leaving her to navigate the uncertainty alone. Over time\, she developed the skills to advocate for herself and manage her symptoms—skills that ultimately led to answers. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nIn 2021\, with the support of a GP who truly listened and continued to investigate\, she was finally diagnosed with endometriosis. Learning to track symptoms\, understand pain\, and navigate the healthcare system became essential parts of her journey toward better health and quality of life.
